Attorney Muschell has been practicing law for almost forty-five years. Shortly after his admission to the Bar, he was appointed Torrington’s first full time Corporation Counsel. After two years in that position he entered private practice and has engaged in the general practice of law ever since.
Much of his practice involves labor and employment law. He is Torrington’s Labor Counsel and is Town Counsel or Labor Counsel for a number of Litchfield County Towns. His practice also includes matters related to deprivation of civil rights, harassment, equal pay controversies and the like. He practices before the Connecticut Board of Labor Relations, the State Board of Mediation and Arbitration, the Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities, and the Freedom of Information Commission.
While emphasizing employment related matters his practice includes most other areas of a general law practice such as real estate and business transactions, wills, contracts, and landlord-tenant matters.
Attorney Muschell is a Past President of the Connecticut Bar Foundation, and the immediate past President of the Torrington Development Corporation. He is a member of the Governor’s panel of arbitrators under the Teacher Negotiation Act and an alternate member of the State Board of Mediation and Arbitration. He chaired a number of Torrington’s Charter Revision Commissions and was Chairman of the Torrington Board of Education for four of the twelve years he served. He is a member and past president of the Litchfield County Bar Association and a member of the Connecticut and American Bar Associations.
